Program for "A White House Promenade," May 20, 1978

This is an event program for an outdoor reception for members of Congress, hosted by President Jimmy Carter on the South Lawn on May 20, 1978. At the "White House Promenade," members of Congress and their families enjoyed a picnic, an outdoor concert conducted by André Kostelanetz, and a fireworks display. The inside of the program included information about the conductor, the menu for the picnic, and the set list for the musical program. This program is part of a personal collection belonging to former White House Executive Chef Henry Haller. As executive chef from 1966-1987, Haller oversaw meal preparation for a variety of events.
